Thanks to Wisp of Smoke for inspiring the title. Some more very small tales, unconnected, although I always end up imagining a story that ties them altogether. Anyway…
Inside the locket she kept a demon’s egg.
He carved and whittled, preserving the faces of the dead in fruit. It was the least he could do.
“It was just easier to be clever, when there was so much less to know,” said the polymath, mournfully.
She sat on the bus, gripping the seat in front, with her eyes shut. ‘They ripped him out of me’, she whispered to no one in particular.
His expression flicked back and forth from hopeful to blank to hopeful; as nothing helpful continued to happen.
Oh! So … so evocative with so much economy. And I too want to find connections! Wonderful and inspiring …

Ha I particularly enjoyed the part where you mentioned me :p egotism aside, great work. I can never seem to write micro fiction. I’ve only recently figured out how to write 500 words or less. But you are a master friend.

Always happy to mention someone when I steal their ideas! Thank you for the encouragement, I’m glad you’re enjoying the brevity, my natural habit is to waffle on, say things in a dozen different ways. Be repetitive . Never end. Wait a minute, I think I’ve said this before. 🙂

Wow! Awesome! You capture and strip ideas down into an essence that is incredibly powerful! Brilliant …. if Hemingway was alive, you’d be giving him a run for his money 😉

LOL … seriously! To create such snippets that literally tell a story – indeed …. brilliant!

I never thought of actually writing down the broken bits and pieces down- it seems glaringly obvious. I have a whole new perspective on my own writing 🙂
I’m having a bit of a binge on your work now that I’ve found it. It’s by far one of the most inspired and enjoyable blogs I’ve come across.
