Today has been a day of rain, paranoia and headaches (I don’t fair well when I’m stuck inside). So this just going to be a hodgepodge of happy pictures, funny things and interesting words.
Several words of the day
Blague – humbug; pretentious nonsense
Xanthippe – ill-tempered woman
Chasmophile – lover of nooks and crannies
Wappend – tired, incontinent, unchaste

A grape dryer? Boy they really didn’t like the census taker. Who wants to work as a drowner? A cow banger? Too much information, even to this day.

I am seriously tempted to put Knight of the Thimble and Turnip Shepherd on my CV though!

And I could be the Proprietor of the midgets (Sheesh! I can’t even spell Proprietor properly if the laptop does not intervene).

Proprietor is silly spelling, like so much of English. Good luck in your new role!

I am seriously troubled by ‘Emasculator’. Hope the headache’s gone real soon.

I never thought the people in census office had a sense of humor.

I wonder if modern records are as entertaining

I am sure they are, we just need to look at teh right places… or may be these people learnt from mistakes and turned the census into a Likert scale where people can only tick circles and not create new stuff

OK. Presume you’re just working on your current masterpiece, but just checking. You ok?

Hello! 😀 I am fine! Thank you very much for checking. I AM getting a bit caught up in writing big things at the moment, but I’ll try to put out a blog this weekend (although, I might have said the same thing last weekend). How are you? Is life good?

Adding to your new words here, Petra, i recently discovered that a ‘sesquipedalian librocubicularist’ is the name for a person who reads books in bed. So one can always do that on a rainy day – just as it is outside here in the Borders right now. Feels like a sunday too. As far as the occupations are concerned – it’s a colorist of artifical fish for me! And speaking of colour, I especially adore that top image :>)

Amazing words! Always good to add to the list 🙂
The top pictures was my desk top picture for a while, but it’s a different dragon now 😀
